Having obtained my City & Guilds in Catering and UCLI in Pastry back in 1985 I went on to work as chef within the catering industry until I decided on a change in career in the early 1990's.

It wasn't until I had a young family that my interest in catering was rekindled and I began making cakes for my children's birthdays. Then, from recommendations, I received requests from other people for cakes, to include wedding cakes, one of which was featured in the magazine Wedding Cakes A Design Source. It was from this growing interest in my cakes that A Cake to Celebrate was established.

I get great pleasure in creating bespoke cakes in particular Wedding Cakes and being able to see the finished product. However, as my catering experience taught me, the cakes not only have to look good but they must taste good too, therefore only the freshest and finest quality ingredients for all of our wedding cakes and celebration cakes.

I only take a limited number of commissions each month to ensure each cake is given my undivided attention. I pride myself on good customer service, working closely with my clients and believe I provide a friendly and personal service, from the initial free consultation (by appointment only), where I meet my client to discuss their requirements, giving them the opportunity to sample a selection of cake flavours to the delivery and set if required (within the West Midlands).
